Hanging on a Whim, a shop within the store, Home Again is located in Timonium and owned by artist and proprietor, Brenda Carroll. Previously, the store was located in Hampden and during the 15 years there Brenda has created a following with her expertise in painting furniture.
The shop offers an assortment of painted furniture including side tables, decorative painted chests, child rockers, toy chests, rocking horses and the like. In addition to the variety of pieces in her space, Brenda provides custom work for an ever-growing base of customers.
Hanging on a Whim also offers weekly art classes where students of all ages come together to learn to paint or work in tile and glass. Classes are 2 hours a week for 5 weeks. Brenda also offers a “drop-in” class for anyone who wants to try out an art class before committing.
Students can choose what they want to learn: painting furniture, canvas, or working in cut glass and tile. Additionally, Brenda instructs students from beginner to advanced.
Finally, Hanging on a Whim is the perfect place to host a Girls Night Out or celebrate a birthday. Schedule an evening, bring a few friends, choose a project such as painting 4 wine glasses or a canvas. You’re welcome to bring wine or snacks. Art supplies are included.
